Travel tips

The information here, including the maps, is  just for reference. The travel routes and times will vary depending on weather conditions, or something unexpected happens. Consider extra time to add when planning your travel.

How do I get to Sapporo from Tokyo?
The quickest way is to fly from Haneda International Airport to New Chitose Airport, will be about a 1 hour and 35-minute flight. From the New Chitose Airport, you can take a bus heading to Sapporo and get off at the bus stop "Sapporo Dome" (About 45-min ride).

Another option is to take the bullet train "Hokkaido Shinkansen" from JR Tokyo Station and reach via Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station. Arriving at Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station, you can take a train(Super Hokuto Exp.) or highway bus bound for Sapporo. From Sapporo, shuttle bus service will be available to get to the stadium. You can also take a subway train from Sapporo to the stadium.

The Hokkaido Shinkansen is a new line just opened in 2016. Taking this train will be a good value for JR Rail Pass holders. However, they should also know that it takes about 4 hours from Tokyo to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto, and 3.30 to 5 hours from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto to Sapporo.
