Spring Rose Festival at Jindai Botanical Gardens May 2 - May 31, 2026

The Jindai Botanical Gardens is one of the Tokyo Metropolitan Parks in Chofu City. The gardens feature 5200 roses across 400 different varieties, blooming in spring and autumn.

Darkness Festival - Kurayami Matsuri May 5 (Apr.30 - May 6) 2026

A traditional festival held at Ookunitamajinja Shrine in Fuchu, in western Tokyo. Has a history of over 1,000 years and draws over 700,000 people during the festival period. The highlight is the parade of Mikoshi (portable shrines) carrying and the drumming ceremony.
