The largest sports bicycle festival in Japan is set to take place at Tokyo Big Sight. This event is a general exhibition and test ride for sports bicycles, showcasing the latest models of sports bicycles, frames, parts, and clothing. Visitors also have the opportunity to try out the products on display.
Darkness Festival - Kurayami Matsuri May 5 (Apr.30 - May 6) 2026
A traditional festival held at Ookunitamajinja Shrine in Fuchu, in western Tokyo. Has a history of over 1,000 years and draws over 700,000 people during the festival period. The highlight is the parade of Mikoshi (portable shrines) carrying and the drumming ceremony.
Mashiko Spring Pottery Market
Apr. 29. - May 6. 2026
More than 500 pottery stalls will take place at this market and sell various types of potteries. You will find teacups, rice bowls, ramen bowls and more - all designed in a traditional/modern Japanese style. Walking around pottery stalls to find favorite ones will be an attraction.
Meiji Jingu Spring Grand Festival Apr. 29. - May 3, 2026
Japanese traditional dances such as Kagura are put on in honour of the deities.
YOKOHAMA Flower & Garden Festival 2026 May. 2 - 4, 2026
The flower exhibition will take place in Yokohama, a city famous for its numerous rose gardens.
Chiba Boso-no-Mura Spring Festival

Boso-no-Mura is an open-air museum operated by Chiba Prefecture, featuring a park with exhibits of Japanese buildings dating back 150 years. A number of hands-on events are held during this festival, good for families.

A large Bonsai Festival will take place at Omiya Bonsai village in Omiya. During the festival, masterpieces of Bonsai works are exhibited, and Bonsai plants and pots are also sold there.

Kasama Tsutsuji (Azalea) Festival Apr.11. - May.6, 2026
Kasama, a historic town known for its pottery production, holds a large garden located on a hilltop, blessed with stunning views of 8500 Azalea trees.
Rose garden in Ina Town, Saitama
The rose garden in Ina Town features 400 varieties of roses and more than 5,000 rose bushes, covering an area of approximately 12,000 square meters. The roses bloom fully twice each year, with the best viewing times being from mid-May to early June and from late October to early November.
