Lerch Ski Festival in Niigata

Are you an Austrian or skiing lover living in Niigata? If so, there's an event you won't want to miss!
This event is held at Kanayasan Ski Area in Joetsu City to commemorate Major Lerch, an Austrian who introduced skiing techniques to Japan. There will be food stalls selling Austrian beer and sausages, as well as unique dishes from Joetsu City. During the event, free chair-lift service is available.

Kite Market at Oji-inari Shrine

The traditional kite market has a long history dating back to the Edo period. The highlight of the market is the food stalls that line the street leading to the shrine from Oji Station.
