Yabusame Horseback Archery at Asakusa Sumida-koen Park April 18, 2026

Yabusame is the art of shooting arrows on horseback, performed as a traditional ceremony that derives from horse riding exercises for Samurai Warriors.

The Yabusame begins at 1:00 PM in Sumida-koen Park near Kototoi-bashi Bridge. A pre-ceremony "Kusajishi" starts from 11:45 AM at Sanyabori-hiroba place in Sumida-koen Park (near the Taito-ku Riverside Sports Center)

Location: Sumida-koen park at the Sumida riverside, Asakusa, Tokyo 

The Yabusame site will be crowded with many audiences. Purchasing an advanced ticket to get a paid sheet is suggested.

Tickets are available for purchase online, or at Taito City Hall, and Asakusa Tourist Information Center (In front of Sensoji temple)

The pre-ceremony at the Sanyabori-hiroba area is free for any audience. No paid sheet will be provided.
