Lighting event at Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Garden May 20 - 23, 2026

This special event, showcasing the fusion of digital art and stunning lighting effects, takes place at a historic Japanese garden in Tokyo. The combination of digital art and illumination will transform the traditional garden into a fantastic landscape.

Memories of a Garden Where Light Resides

The lighting event is based on the themes of "the joy of strolling through the garden at night" and "focusing on the aesthetic beauty of the garden's design, which has continued since the Edo period." By layering light and sound onto the garden's long-standing landscapes, artificial hills, and lanterns, the event will express the history and memories inherent in each through digital art.

Kyu-Shiba-rikyu Garden is located in the Takeshiba area, a beautiful waterfront hub in Tokyo. The garden seamlessly combines modern high-rise buildings with picturesque water views and tranquil Japanese landscapes. Enjoy the refreshing breeze from Tokyo Bay while savoring beer and snacks as you admire the illuminated garden.

There are benches in front of the garden pond, which are nice for sitting and chatting. FYI, these eco-friendly benches are repurposed from Expo 2025 Osaka.
