Horseback Archery Festival in Moroyama town | Nov. 3, 2023

With a history of over 950 years, boys aged 15 years old take part in this traditional ceremony and challenge arrow shooting on horse back.

Yabusame is the art of shooting arrows on horseback, performed as a traditional ceremony that derives from horse riding exercises for Samurai warriors.

Getting to Moro Station from Tokyo (Ikebukuro)
From Tobu Ikebukuro Station, take Tobu-tojo train bound for Kawagoe Station 川越駅. (Express. about 30 min.) -- From Kawagoe Sta, take JR Kawagoe-sen train and get off at Komagawa Station 高麗川駅 (About 20 min.). -- From Komagawa sta, take JR Hachikou Line and get off at Moro Station. 毛呂駅 (6 min.)

From Moro Station, a 5-min walk will take you to the Izumo Iwai-jinja Shrine
